About us

Between the warmth of the South and the hospitality of the North

CICADAS is a new folk/pop project born in Brussels gathering three musicians from the French Riviera. Spread across France, Belgium and the Netherlands, they deliver folk music that is both heartfull and modern, full of warmth and light. Through the meeting of the Harp, the Bass and the Guitar, the trio mixes voices and strings, painting emotions and singing landscapes. The inspirations are diverse, from Folk music to Jazz, including traditional, experimental, ambient music… The musicians explore the meeting between acoustic and electric timbres. If they seek refinement and subtlety through sounds, harmony, rhythm, they also fit into a “song” register, including elements of pop music with catchy hooks and effective melodies.

Louis Rampal

Since the age of 13, Louis has professionally explored several musical genres such as folk, traditional, jazz, rock… Producing albums and acquiring solid stage experience, he also studied composition and arrangement at the Nice conservatoire.

Jarod Begusic

During his years in Montpellier, Jarod co-produced several albums (jazz/pop/trad) and other music for short films and video games. He moved to Brussels to continue his musical studies at the Royal conservatoire of Brussel and Den haag. While actively participating in the Belgian et Dutch scene.

Camille Refait

Camille is a classically trained musician who studied at the Nice conservatory and The Royal conservatoire of Brussels. She performs in France and Belgium as a soloist, in chamber music and in orchestra, but also in Folk, tradional and pop music. Thriving in a plurality of repertoires and playing techniques
